Looks like my all summer epic shorts wearing run is in jeopardy: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.sea...-area/%3famp=1

“The end of this week could mark the start of the Seattle area’s wet season. The National Weather Service of Seattle is predicting winds of up to 50 mph Friday through Saturday. Also in the forecast: 10 times the precipitation we had all summer over just three days.

Friday morning may not start with steady rain, said weather service meteorologist Steve Reedy, but it should be coming down pretty heavily by midmorning. And then it will likely rain all weekend, he said”.

We had booked three nights on Orcas. This was to make up for the three nights on Orcas we didn't do in 2020 because of smoke. We made it through our first night (last night) but decided at 4:30 to get the next available ferry so now we're home again. Gail warning and winds of 35mph starting at 5am until nearly Saturday morning (scheduled return) so we bailed... not much to do (or places to eat) on a small island during a storm in covid times. Also we left our kids at home... granted, the older one is weeks shy of 18, but still... I'm the kind that needs nearly all reassurances for safety and security.

Had a good day though. I wish we could have gone a little later when the fall colors really change.

This was an incredible generally smoke free summer, I don't think there will be many people complaining about the rain this weekend.

I am so looking forward to this.
Not so much for the wind but I’ll take an extra helping of rain with a side of cold air please.

I officially “retired” my knaki shorts last Thursday until next summer.

DW decided last night not to go shopping on Sat.
Sat morning, weather actually pretty good, so went out.
Personally, I find the weather in Seattle area tamer than weather in midValley Oregon.
I hate the weather people, overly dramatic for a place that is supposed to get rain and a little wind -which didn't happen, at least Redmond.
