I'm an Indian citizen, but a permanent resident of the US; do I need anything special to enter Canada? and possibly come back?

If I don't, then the more important question; I spontaneously asked somebody out for a fun trip to Vancouver and they said yes, but I'm a doofus, I have no clue what one can do in Vancouver, sites and attractions I mean.

Can anybody help me out? What can a couple do in Vancouver?

If you're not a US citizen, you'll need a passport and a visa to enter Canada.

Actually the US permanent residents can enter Canada without a visa, but permanent residents of Canada can't enter the US without a visa

Random strangers don't know all the specific government information you need. You need to Google to read the Canadian government's requirements for non-Canadian and non-U.S. citizens to enter Canada, and the U.S. government's requirements for permanent residents of the U.S. to re-enter the U.S.

Google will also provide Vancouver, B.C. tourist information.

Oh, and there is a really great Japanese/Korean area in Richmond

I think Ira is correct, but as AFC says better check to be sure, If you get to the border and have issues, could put a damper on the date.
