Bartend in Seattle? (sales, find a job, school)

You would think it wouldn't be so difficult to get a bartending job in Seattle!

However because so many people have been laid off lately, the job is almost impossible without knowing somebody or even having years and years of experience.

Does anyone have any insight on were to look and how to go about getting a bartending job in the Seattle area with little experience and new to the area?

A couple weeks ago I was laid off my job in sales for a German company. Before that I worked in support/sales for an Australian software company. And back in 2005 I barbacked/bartended for a bar in Berlin for about 7 months. Just this month I completed a bartending school course and got my Class 12 license. Great eductation, but I just want to get away from the corportate life and thought this would be a great way to meet people and even make money.

But it is very hard to find a job, although I know I will make an excellent bartender.

Where do I go, how do I go about it?

I have been hitting the streets dropping off my resume with a picture attached but no luck so far.

Experience, they all want years of it. But you need to start somewhere, right?

Any suggestions will be very helpful.
