Landed a lucrative internship this summer making $4k a month . I'm sick of the dungeon-like UW dorms and would like to get out of them asap. So what I'm looking for is an area with:

-1br apartment
-Near lots of restaurants
-Not too far from the U

So please, sell me on something

Wish I could help, I'm looking to move to Seattle myself! Do you like the area as a student?

Apparently someone found something distasteful with my last post. I wasn't aware that this site is frequented by 13 year olds who need their innocent ears shielded. Oh well.

The U-District is great at first but once you've eaten everywhere worth eating on the Ave and get sick of dealing with the gutterpunks, you feel like branching out a bit.

And if you're coming from California, lie and say you're coming from somewhere else. Heh. Cue the 500-post argument.

How about Ravenna or Greenlake? Some nice restaurants, minus the gutterpunks.

Can't say I've ever been to Ravenna, but Greenlake's nice. What are the prices like there?

Ravenna is mostly houses, but there are apartments as well. There's a Third Place Bookstore around 20th Ave NE and NE 65th Street, a bagel bakery, a pizza place, another bakery, and a few other places...A few blocks down 65th is the Roosevelt district, also full of restaurants. I used to live in Ravenna. It's close enough to the U to be convenient, but far enough away to not be thought of as " student ghetto".
