Hey.
Im moving to Seattle in December hopefully.
From Florida Gulfcoast.
I hate it here. Too damn hott and bible thumpers.
I am a white, 23yo slim male.
I have chosen Seattle as my home for many reasons, but have a few questions.
I am somewhat of a hippie, nature-lover, musik(rock, grunge) lover and into spiritual aspects of life, such as shamanism.
I work in mental healthcare. Might be getting a job at The Center in Edmonds(I heard trains run from Seattle to there daily).
I am a homosexual, but more of a rock-type of gay guy.
I ****ing hate flamers.
Im very laid-back and love art.
I love cloudy days.
I am going to be an art therapist and hoping to attend
Antioch University for art therapy grad school.
I wont have a car. Driving is something I'm SICK of.

So....Will I fit in?
How is the gay scene in Seattle?
Any chill, youth/my age gay bars that are not about dancing in cages?
Any good places to live?
I wanna live near everything.

Any comments would be much appreciated.
I grew up up in Colorado, so I love water and mountains.

Seattle sounds like a good fit for you. If you plan to live w/o a car, I would strongly recommend Capitol Hill as it's the densest neighborhood with easy access to downtown.

As for "dancing in cages", wow I'm not sure that sort of thing is allowed North of the California border.

Im looking forward to moving.
As far as the rain goes, is it more misty and drizzle or downpour all the time?

You'll like it here. There are tons of rocker/indie gays in Seattle. There's a night at Chop Suey (club) named Comeback that attracts that scene of gays. Also a new bar that caters to indie type gays is opening named Pony. Capitol Hill would be the place you want to live. Hopefully your spiritual practice will grow here and you can mark ****ing flamers off your list as people to hate, although I know what your sentiment was trying to convey. Good luck!

Seattle has many neighborhoods that will fit any gay lifestyle. Capitol Hill is great, especially when you're young, but don't limit your self there. Lower Queen Anne, Wallingford, Ballard all have their appeal and are relatively close to "the hill". I recently read that Seattle has the second largest per capita gay population after San Francisco in the US. My experience has been a "live and let live" attitude.

As far as the rain, it's usually the misty drizzle sort. Not many downpours though they do happen from time to time.

I ****ing hate flamers.

-- I wish you didn't say this. If you are not open minded enough to accept other gays, then you may not fit in here in Seattle.
