My husband interviewed for a job in Seattle on Monday. We're optimistically waiting for an offer. We're wondering, though, since the cost of living is less in the Seattle area than it is here in San Diego, if the tech salaries are similar. He's a senior java developer. Also, I'm a tech writer, and depending on his offer, I may or may not have to look for a job.

Any idea on basic salary ranges for programmers and tech writers?

Thanks!

V. =)

By the way VeronikaW, because of the Tech jobs in Seattle, the cost of living and housing is almost as expensive as San Diego! I know, I'm from Seattle, currently living in San Diego, moving back to Seattle!

Thanks! I'm finding that to be true right in the middle of the city, but I'm finding some of the suburbs to be a bit cheaper, which is nice. Every little bit helps!
