Thoughts? Frankly, I'm a little concerned. His position on the tunnel really turned me off (though, what does it matter considering I can't even vote yet )

McGinn's not going to stop the tunnel. He ran a great campaign with a lot of grassroots, volunteer support, and watching him during the couple of televised debates, he came off as very reasonable and intelligent. Mallahan may have had lots more money and endorsements, but during the debates he just didn't come off as smart. I'm sure in reality he's very smart, but during the debates he mumbled, fumbled, fidgeted, misspoke, and just didn't do himself any favors by opening his mouth.

Outside of his unendorsement of the tunnel, what does this McGinn have to say? Didn't follow all the election bs. Anything interesting or useful?

Get used to what? That doesn't make sense. Mallahan already conceded; we're not likely to hear from him again, so what is he supposed to get used to?

I'm really surprised that McGinn won. I thought Mallahan would win easily. I support the tunnel, so I ended up voting for Mallahan. But I wasn't excited or impressed by either candidate, which maybe explains why I'm not upset that McGinn won. His grassroots effort was very impressive, and it's a reminder that passion and energy can overcome a money advantage, at least in local politics. The number of folks he had out on the street, at least on Capitol Hill, rivaled that of Obama's campaign here last year. That's really surprising. I've always thought that I had a good feel for the pulse of the city, but I missed this one bigtime.

McGinn was a lawyer. If there's anyone who I think won't mumble and stumble over his words, it's him.

Wasn't Ira referring to Mallahan? ...pertaining to the mumbling and stumbling?

Yeah, but TC seems to be referring to Mallahan, which I don't get because he lost and we won't be hearing from him again.
