My first visit to Seattle is coming up in a week and I'll be there on St. Patty's. I was wondering where I should look for a good time.

Right after the parade, go to Kell's downtown. If it's too crowded, try Finn MacCool's in UW, they have great deals on corned beef and cabbage lunches on St. Paddy's day.

Or you could go to Ballard where there will be lots to do, as always.

Which parade do you speak of?

Thanks for the suggestions. These look like great locations.

Side question:

Where to go for good/reasonably priced Sushi in Seattle?

The parade is downtown. I"m sure you can google it.

For sushi, if you want good prices and reasonable quality try Todai. It's in the Pacific place mall and you'll be right there if you go to the parade.

I was looking for a more Seattle exclusive type sushi place as opposed to a corporate chain. Thanks though.

Sure thing. You want modern, or traditional? Haute coutre, or local gettogether with the occassional drunken Japanese dude?

For the former in both cases, go to Kisaku. It is very good sushi and it is somewhat expensive. But, my wife, who is Japanese, was melting at that place and said it was excellent.

If you want the latter, go to Tsukushinbo. It's a little hole in the wall in the Intl District, on Main st. It isn't labeled, but it's on a steep hill and is very awesome.

Tsukushinbo is awesome. On Main St, between 5th and 6th. Right around the corner is Maneki, Seattle's oldest Japanese restaurant and a very good one. Been around for 100 years, 6o ish in their current location.

Belltown, the U District, Fremont and Ballard will probably be the busiest areas on St. Patrick''s Day. I somehow dont see Capitol Hill being a St. Patrick's day type of neighborhood, but maybe Im wrong...
