The series portrayed a massive worldwide blackout that threw society back technologically into the 1800s. No electricity, no internal combustion engines, and no firearms. The real story begins 15 years after the "event".
It was broadcasted from the September 2012-May 2014.
It's the only way to really press the "reset button" for the country. I think it will be done by those in power and they'll blame it on North Korea or terrorists.
If the power was out for a year 75% of Americans would be dead when/if they put the power back on.
Welfare leeches would die.
Disabled and old people would die.
People would starve and get sick and die.

Whatever is going on in your life or the country, I can tell you that debt and alleged takers are not the problem. Funny how people idealize the end of the world. Setting up a new system? Ha ha. Look how long it took to set up what we have now. Are you going to automatically kill all the elderly and handicapped?

I'm not killing anyone. By takers I mean The abusers of welfare and the system and we all know there are millions of them...
That would NOT reset us to the 1880s. It would reset us to 1300. 95% of the population would be dead in six months. The most reliable food source would be...surviving humans.
Organized gangs and mobs would run rampant.
If it was just a US or NA event, guess what, looters and invaders from every hellhole from Red China and Russia and South America and the Mideast would be here looting and murdering and sadistically torturing and selling slaves.
Europe would be overrun by the Hun and it would be Medieval Hell all over again.

When Capital is wiped out, it will be hundreds of years to rebuild technology from nothing, and without working technology we lose nearly all of our agriculture and medical care.
