Target is the only store to wanting to swipe my DL for liquor purchases. I told them to forget it. I don't look underage. I told the clerk I was old enough to be his grandfather. His comment is the store makes them do it, it's policy.
Various other stores have asked to see it for ID purposes only to verify who I say I am.

If you really want to confuse someone, hand them your passport card or your Firearm owners permit card.
I do not allow anyone to swipe my drivers license.
I will show my ID, but I never allow it to be swiped.
