It seems shoe quality has gone down the past couple years. I'm tired of my shoes falling apart every 6-12 months. Generally I spend $60-$100 on shoes. They come unglued and get holes too easily. I work 12 hour shifts in a hospital. Is there a particular brand that is comfortable, durable, and under $120?

I work in a hospital and we had talks about it - most guys said that Merrell and KEEN are very good shoes, but don't disregard Croc's.
It feels really good to have second pair at work and switch at midshift.

I am assuming that Matthew is a guy

BTW: don't get fooled by the price. There are only 2 sizes for ~$60 and both are super narrow. The rest is over $120 (most are $130 and over $200)

The only shoes that last a long time are shoes made out of real leather. Those are worth the cost of repairing, too, and your shoe repair guy can also dye and polish them if they start to look worn.

Will initially cost more, but will last forever, along with the rare replacement of a sole.

I used to have a pair of White Mountain Italian leather clogs with a molded rubber or poly sole. They were very comfortable. However, one day I noticed crumbly material all over the floor. It was the soles of the shoes. They had just disintegrated. I was fortunate that I didn't twist my ankle when it happened. Awful.

I had some old leather sandals with rubber soles, and I took them to a shoe repair guy and had him put new rubber soles on them.

Nothing lasts forever, but some things can be fixed and are worth fixing.

Are you talking about athletic shoes? I wear Mizunos in my medical job and for exercise, but I have a narrow, nearly flat foot. They are very durable but comfort depends on your foot shape. I do NOT recommend Nikes. Their construction has really gone downhill.
