How much do you want to provide us a summary of those itemized costs

Buy air-chilled chicken. We do. It's much better.

If it seems that some grocery items are not getting pricier, its because the factory is giving you less product in each package.
OMG -- where do you LIVE?

I will say that I started stocking up, including buying a deep chest freezer, about six months ago when "rumors" of coming food shortages started appearing, and I admit that I felt a little silly when the shortages did not appear to the extent I and others thought they would, but I am now glad I did. I probably now have close to 50 pounds of NY and ribeye steaks, bought at an average of $8.99 pound, and 12 pounds of butter bought when it was on sale at $1.99 a pound, to give just two examples.

We have gradually let our "reserves" decrease a little bit, but reading posts like yours make me think that I should refill our freezers and panty "to the max".

Thank you - I didn’t see this designation on the chicken - we never buy frozen - will try to find the store which labels chicken better.

I thought they are all air-chilled and thought they started doing something different to chicken

Must be supply chain - a new supplier..

Some prices around here:
Bacon $4.19#
Butter, under $3.#
Eggs, $2-$3.
Ground beef $3.98 #(88/12)
Strip steaks, $8.99#
Pork and chicken is frequently on sale, so I buy it then.
