Ever been "influenced" by a celebrity?

I haven't. I'll take advice from experts, but not some unrelated celebrity.

So maybe a good idea to crack down?

France Is Cracking Down on the Influencer Industry
France is set to become the first country in the world to legally define what an influencer is, as new legislation proposed by Vojetta and MP Arthur Delaporte aims to crack down on the types of products and services creators can advertise to their followers.

Eventually these people are going to lose their followers for one reason or anther, perhaps just getting old, and they will have no marketable skills. Meanwhile getting paid to act silly on social media is just another sign of what's wrong with the world today.

Ugh, hate the term and the behavior it's pushed. I've started avoiding everything that gets promoted by these influencers because the companies are as much to blame for encouraging it. Basically finding cheap/free advertising using the most annoying people of a generation to shrill whatever subpar overpriced junk they have.

To be fair we should have seen this coming after the whole Paris Hilton/Kim Kardashian phase of the 2000s/2010s. We just traded spoiled talentless rich girls for less rich spoiled suburban kids. It won't end well because at the end of the day at least Hilton and Kardashian had business sense and the money to back it up. These kids don't have anything and get replaced within seconds when a new face shows up.

Tho celebrities from wealthy families are different than growing our own business on social media because of our 15 minutes of fame or popularity. For us, it’s usually just something on the side that is fun & makes money too AND, we never expected or planned for it. We are loving it for the moment.

The problem is when some women think it’s a life long career. My suggestion would be to do it as a hobby with what you enjoy & know. For me…it’s health, fitness & fashion. If it doesn’t take off, you aren’t out anything. You still had fun. You still have a career without it.
