Repeat offenders are always dealt with more harshly, no way he should've gotten the benefit of the doubt.

I saw the video of the blatant bite and I was shocked.

If this was the first time he had bitten an opponent I might be ok with a 4 month suspension but apparently he has done this before! He should be banned for life from the sport.

I am even more shocked that some people think his punishment was too harsh. How does anyone condone this?

According to suarez, he lost his balance and his teeth "accidentally" landed on Chiellini's shoulder. Yeah! Right!

I use to be a fan of suarez (name purposely not capitalized). Wasn't so after his biting incident. Now, after reading this excrement of an excuse, I am disgusted by this so-called professional footballer.

As an athlete, he resorts to fouling when bested by an opponent. As a man, he lacks the testicular fortitude to admit wrongdoing.

Shame on him and on all who come out in his defense.

I t looks like Liverpool will be selling him. The man is a disgrace, he even blamed the press who he believes are/were running a negative campaign against him.

This guy needs to see a psychiatrist because it's become very obvious that he has some serious mental issues. There was talk that Barcelona wanted to buy him, but who would sign him knowing that if he bit another player he could be banned for a very long time indeed.

Can they write a contract that says he will be dropped if he bites again? I'm not familiar how these contracts work.

I think he is a really good player. I think he is worth millions. I hope he learns his lesson someday.

I don't think he is mentally sick, he is just a very aggressive player who thinks he can get away with this crap.

I would have given him more time. Four months is not enough. He got off pretty easy.

It's going to be interesting how Liverpool will deal with Suarez. Liverpool is a gigantic club with a pedigree that goes way way back. Perhaps we wil be seeing how a team views itself as more important or an individual. If they sell later on they will lose a great player. But also there are other great strikers out there too to be bought.

They could write up a contract requiring suarez to wear a Hannibal Lecter type muzzle each time he steps onto the field.
