I would rather not have the league disrupted for this, and just hope everyone is safe in the middle east in relation to an event which will be a magnet for terrorism.
As for England, they have a lot of tough opponents should they get through the group stages.
Having the event in Qatar a country with poor human rights, discrimination and slave labour, whilst disrupting football leagues to host it in the winter, just demonstrates how corrupt FIFA and the likes of Sepp Blatter and Platini were.
England Manager Gareth Southgate has already been told by Qatar to "pick his words very carefully" after the England manager questioned the Gulf State's treatment of migrant workers and said it would be a "great shame" if some fans didn't travel to the tournament over safety concerns.
As for alcohol, it is largely limited to luxury hotels and private clubs in Qatar, with being drunk in public an offence. It is not part of Qatari tradition or culture, and its availability for international visitors during the World Cup has been a point of contention.
So thousands of fans in a pace surrounded by desert, in an area with safety concerns and where you can't drink or be drunk in public, what could possible go wrong.
