Hello everyone,
We are in Wisconsin, and the availability of dump truck work here this year is slow. The state road contracts are way down, and finding private jobs is not an easy task for many. We are lucky to be working 40 hrs./week right now, but are used to working 70. Had to let one employee go and sell our other truck to get by. Still struggling to pay the bills, and heard that dump truck work is booming in north and south carolina. Is this true? Does anyone have any contacts for work or information? What is the hourly pay there? What is the cost of living like there if making a temporary move?
Any help is very much appreciated...........thanks
I can't speak for areas outside of Myrtle Beach, however, with the amount of construction activity here, I'd say that chances are very strong that you'd not have any issues finding work. Not sure if you're thinking of continuing to be an owner/operator or not, and I don't know how that would effect job placement...
A BIG local site work company is A.O. Hardee. Dargan Construction is also a large company..
Feel free to send me a private message and I'll try and scrounge up more names and numbers..
Hi, i saw this thread, could you please help me find local dump truck work around the MB area or somewhere close to there. If you know of any more names let me know, thanks...
Unlimited workloads available here in the Upstate (Greenville-Spartanburg-Anderson). It is the most populated region and there is no sign of slowing down on the horizon.

around the Charleston area "booming" would be an understatement, it's wide open throttle here and has been for years
my BIL has hauled dirt/sand/rock for years, worked for one co. 7 different times in the last cpl years ... he'd quit without notice n go work at another trucking co. for a few months and then go walk back in and they'd put him to work like he never left
they are hurting for drivers so bad around here you can pick your plate, most pay by the load and it's nothing to make a few hundred a day for some drivers so I hear ... cost of living is very low comparably

I'm an owner/operator and I'd like more information, names and numbers and any other useful information you'd like to offer. Thanks, SunBeachTrucking.
