I have noticed recently that it seems Florence has a much larger business community than other towns its size and would largely attribute that to its position as the region's economic hub.

Although it seems like the Florence business community is vast, there seems to be a large gap in business services there like marketing agencies and such that perhaps have passed on Florence due to its population.

Any thoughts?

My thoughts are that they center themselves in other larger Metros like Myrtle Beach and Columbia though they may have clients in Florence

That is absolutely true about agencies catering to larger Metro areas, anyone who comes into the area catering to the Florence market would make a killing. The market is undeserved in my opinion.

I think around this area, it is still a small town at heart, and a LOT of success here is driven by "who you know" locally.

I know from doing hiring here, companies struggle to hire good people in this area.

Well I guess it looks like someone is about to fill this gap in Florence. I guess the agency is still based out of Columbia but still I think that will help businesses here a lot considering there is no one in town that does marketing and businesses seem to really need help in that department in Florence !! Hopefully they do well!
