Just curious if anyone had any insight on the growth of medical teaching hospitals in the state. I think as SC continues to grow there will be more of a need. Right now MUSC is the only major teaching center in the state offering training in most every medical field. I would like to see Greenville and Coulmbia grow their teaching hospitals as well and offer more medical training programs on par w MUSC

We moved from NA to Charleston... you might want to consider it. It's a much nicer location.

MUSC just announced the construction of a new Childrens Hospital ... to replace the several floors they currently use downtown. Fund raising has commenced and seems to be off to a good start.

On a slightly different tangent ... plans for a Fisher House ( military version of the Ronald Mcdonald house ) on Lockwood near the VA hospital has been announced as well. There are already 65 such houses around the country and at Ramstein in Germany.

I actually think North Augusta is a very quaint little town and enjoy the Greenway and Hammonds Ferry area. However, I agree that Charleston is a much nicer metro than Augusta with a whole lot more to offer. I didn't hear the term Disgusta until I moved here and the longer I've been here, sadly the more I agree.
