The article made clear to point out that the City wanted to make sure that DC remit the taxes collected in the City portion back to the City of Florence. So... I sure that will require a slight adjustment. DC could stand to benefit a great deal from spill over in that area.. I just dont know enough about schools zones/district

Interesting how the line bisects these two developments.

In the new Technology and Commerce park across from the airport. The building is supposed to be 1 million sq ft.

I believe I also read that it’s technically going to be located in Quinby. I tried to look for the site but Google doesn’t have the Technology and Commerce park labeled. Is the land already cleared on it?

Yeah... it looks like a pretty large site that stretches from the Airport north towards Quinby. It has main east coast rail, access to interstate and is adjacent to an airport so its pretty well served from a transportation perspective. It will be interesting to see if the Town of Quinby annexes it or if the City of Florence does. Maybe it doesnt matter but I would imagine one would gain some property tax revenue of some sort. If the City of Florence does.. it would get them one step closer to possibly taking in some of the far flung eastside subdivisions like the Glendale and the residential areas around the Food Lion Shopping Center beyond the Airport.

This development is going to open up the 327 corridor, I anticipate in the next few years the East side will finally take off. I don’t know if it will be to the same extent as the west side but this will be a very good start.
