Looks like we made our posts at the same time, but I'm gonna stress again, these numbers are off, and considering SC didn't hit 5.2 million as it was estimated too, these will probably end up lower when its said and done.
Where and by how much, I dont know. We'll see.
It will be interesting to see how Aiken and Florence Counties turn out....
It appears the journalist thought the numbers were being released today and wrote their article based on last year’s estimates. I think the release date is now sometime next month.
They are estimates, not actuals. And it's been stated that many of the estimates are off to widely off, and dont match up with the census state numbers. You have to wait until the summer to get the official census count, which still may not be 100%, but at least its not an estimate.
From what I was able to make out though, Charleston is estimated at 819K, Spartanburg 326K, Greenville 932K, Columbia 847K, Myrtle Beach 514K, Hilton Head 227K. I know I typically post a full numbers breakdown, but I'm not going to bother right now if theyre off by as much as people are saying. We can wait a few more months.
ya I think New York state was estimated to have peaked in 2016 and only up 100k from 2010, turns out the actual increase was over 700k.
Who does the estimating?? It must be each state Governor's Offices.... In the case of Arizona.. maybe the want folks to leave so the will be less crowded....

No amount of hunting and pecking on the Census Bureau’s website renders for me the counts from the 2020 census for counties and MSAs. Their release date chart said yesterday. I called, but the person answering could only say she thought the release date had been moved to next week. She attempted to transfer me to another department, but the line went dead. I read something somewhere that said something like June 21, but I can’t find it now.

Dude....summer. Summer. What was just “released” was estimates, that are off everywhere. The “official”numbers will get here. Some say June, July, or August depending on the data. Just, take a breath.
I get the excitement, but ill hate to see the bubble popped when the numbers come in lower across the board.
You’re projecting. I’m not excited, nor disappointed. I’m just saying.
