Hey y'all,
Doesn't it seem extremely strange that Gov Sanford has disappeared, with even his wife saying she isn't sure where he is? Sure, if he had taken a few days vacation to get away and ponder the direction of the state and his role, that would be a fair statement. Everyone needs a break and I imagine the CEO of a struggling business, like the great STate of SC, would need to decompress at times. But come on, let your wife and gov't officials know where you are going. And for Heaven's sake, brief them on how to properly address questions.....the Governor is taking some personal time away from the office. The Governor is working on XYZ, etc.. The Governor needs someone to coach him on PR, as well as his staffers.

Hi Upstate Johnny.
Yes, it should be public but Andre Bauer (Lt. Gov) and even Mrs. SAnford have said they are unaware of the Govs whereabouts. That is what is most disturbing..... C'mon. If he is just pouting and off somewhere licking his wounds, he needs a firm reality check. He needs to step up and provide some strong leadership now.

Gov Sanford deserves a break. He has done nothing but make this state a better place to live. I hope he has a nice refreshing time away from the dumb legislature. Thumbs up Mr. Sanford

LOL

Hopefully he's okay. Even though I don't agree with his paying state debt with stimulus money idea, he seems like a stand up guy.

And I just thought about it....isn't it doubly strange that he was away from his family on Father's Day? I'm not poking at him.....the poor guy needs some down time. It is just weird that he gave SLED agents the slip and fell off of the map for a few days. The media is causing all sorts of speculation and the Governor's staff (and poor wife) have only made it worse. If he is on a fishing trip (can't be reached via cell by the AP or staffers), then they should have just said so. Now the poor guy has to come back to this and explain himself and why he took personal time away from the family to "write something" on Father's Day. He lost a battle (stimulus) but there is a raging war on poverty and unemployment still going on in SC. There are lots of other battles for him to fight.
