That's OK, u made up for it.

Rave: opened all windows and front door to enjoy the cool air.

Rave: ate supper early and kicked back to watch TV.

Rave: fell asleep in chair about 5:31. Woke up at 11pm long enough to go to bed.

Rave: woke up about 5:15am. Windows and front door are still wide open. Slept like a log.

2 rants.. what the heck I like to rant..

typical Brookings weather... way too cold for this time of year for the next week it looks like. June, July, and August are all we get for somewhat nice warmth and the first part of June is not even breaking 70.

Tailgated someone last night doing 28 in a 35 down 8th street south in town... that caused them to just slow to 26ish which really got me up in their bumper. Going that slow is just completely unnecessary and results in lower gas mileage as well... if done in WI, they'd be run off the road. Yet it happens all the time here.. flying by people doing my usual 5 above.. never got a speeding ticket in my life mind you.

Rave: planting the garden and enjoying life otherwise. New fuel pump on my 13 year old car did wonders. Now I can keep it another couple years.

Rave... I gotta say Brookings has got some nice jogging routes...(on the south side of town) either going through their new nature park paths they are currently building or jogging through the indian hills area... from my location the jogging length and routes are perfect.

Rave... the community gardens. Without them I would not have a garden. Raspberries are spreading like wildfire, and the asparagus is doing well.

Rave: Being able to renew vehicle registrations online.
Rave: It is worth the extra fee to not deal with courthouse.
Rave: John Deere equipment.
Rant: Think I might have broke something on my pickup. It was loaded down yesterday... Today whenever I make a turn is makes a rattle like something is loose
Rave: Welding my new welding cart. Making progress, albeit slowly.

Rant: Washing machine died in spectacularly violent fashion. Flooded the main floor AND the basement.
Rant: It only came with a 1-year warranty. Said warranty expired 4 days ago.
Rant: DH's new job didn't work out. He was miserable there.
Rave: He had a new, better job offer in 2 hours.
Rave: Shiny new washing machine.
Rant: Washing machines are expensive.
Rave: We sprang for a front-loader. I think we'll be happy with it.

Rant: 2 inches of rain in a little over 30 minutes.

Rave: We needed the rain.

Rant: Just didn't need it right that minute.

Rant: Frozen shoulder. It came on like lightning. X-rays revealed a calcified adhesion the size of a .22 caliber bullet wedged into my right shoulder joint. It was excruciatingly painful and I couldn't move my right arm at all. Even Percocet and Flexeril did nothing to touch the pain.

Rant: Guess who's right-handed?

Rave: Aggressive treatment from the orthopedic docs. They shot the joint with cortisone and sent me straight to PT, where they ran electric current through it and have started trying to break up the adhesion with gentle stretches and acetic acid. Hopefully we can avoid surgery this way.

Rant: Long road to recovery, with lots of time missed from work.

Rave: I am starting to feel human again. I can type. I can lift small objects. I can wash my own hair. Little stuff that you take for granted until one day you can't do it.

Rant: Attended a funeral yesterday.

Rant: When he was 14, I taught him how to shoot.

Rant: He was only 35, but had lost all hope.

Rave: After high school, he joined the Army. He was an 11 Bravo with a Bravo 4 designator.

Rant: It eventually became too much for him.

Rave: Absolutely beautiful funeral, well done, very tasteful, open casket.

Rave: He was layed to rest with honors from the 7th Cavalry Drum and Buggle Corps.
