Well boondocking is most fun. even on my adventures over to the bighorns the forest service sites were electric only.
Well, when my husband and I were first married, that's what we'd do - pitch a tent, sleeping bags and not much else. He'd go off hunting and I'd do my homework. There is NO WAY, none at all, I would ever put myself through that again. My back couldn't take it.
Let's also hope this vacation doesn't turn out like the time we rented a motorized RV. We look back now at the Vacation from Hell and laugh our butts off, but at the time, it wasn't funny at all.
We have a 5er with all the bells and whistles. DH says we aren't camping...okay...we go stay at the lake. It appears that some of us use different camping terminology. We call it boondocking when we have nothing...using the batteries and propane. Dry-camping is only having electric. We go to mostly SD State Parks. The only one where I am aware of any full hook-ups is Pierson Ranch in Yankton.
for those of you who like them, i suggest when you are doing something else, to get off the mattress, and dont be too close to another camper, as rhythmic squeaks during the night are quite revealing. giggle.
Well I will not sleep on an air mattress. A cot yes. A 5th wheel sure. A cabin? Perfect.
Oh yeah!! A cabin would be sweet! Like one of these at Hidden Valley!
They have these things fully furnished. I would love to try one of these out instead of tenting it the next time we are there. Hey SD, a air bed hurts your hips? What would a waterbed do to ya? Mine is KILLING my back! lol
Its been years since I slept on a water bed. Mine is in pieces in a shed by the barn.
