Those are really nice pics, Danny. I love the shots looking down on the mountains and trees from the watchtower. Just gorgeous. Oh, and the back of Mt. Rushmore doesn't look like that. I've seen what it looks like on t-shirts.

Danny, the pictures are very good. There are good panoramic views on a few of the pictures. I have never been to Harney Peak but should go there on a future trip to the Black Hills.

Thanks guys! It was really fun to hike it again, but once we got closer to the summit the trail started to get really icy and snow-packed and each of us fell on our rears at least twice! It even started to snow at the top. We brought some wine and cheese and we couldn't even enjoy it because it was so cold and windy.

Maybe we shouldn't go hiking in January!

By the way Chris, I will be visiting a few friends in Sioux Falls this Friday and I was hoping you could make a few suggestions as to entertainment for the weekend. We might be heading to Brookings for a day too.

Danny, I have a couple of questions, this may help with my suggestions. Are you over 21? What are your interests (arts, sports, do you like meeting at a sports-themed restaurant and watching a game)? To eat, I recommend Old Chicago (near the mall), Champps (in Western Mall), and Phillips Ave. Diner (Downtown) due to atmosphere and are comparable in price to Applebees, Perkins, and Chili's. The Skyforce, which was a CBA team for a long time but now an NBA D-League team may have some games and it would be good to check the website and catch a game (the Skyforce play larger cities such as Albuquerque, Des Moines, etc.). Century, off of I-29 north of the mall, is a theater that has stadium style seating. It would not hurt to check the Washington Pavillion for events. There are plays and concerts there and its downtown. Argus Leader online site has an entertainment section that would be helpful for you.

Well, I'm not over 21, but I was hoping that I could still get into clubs. Does Sioux Falls allow those under 21 to get into clubs on any certain nights? I know Minneapolis does on Sunday nights and Thursday nights. And Denver does on Thursday nights and Friday nights. I'm going with 4 other people and we kinda wanna dance and have some fun!

During the day we'll probaly go shopping and go to Panera! I love Panera and I can't wait til we get ours! I'll have to look up some games too. That'd be fun to go to while the ladies go shopping. I'm bringing a buddy of mine too.

OMG! Awesome pictures. What a view from the summit! Now I'm pretty sure I just have to hike to the summit. I'll be 50 this year....do you think I can do it, Danny? When were these picture taken? I'm just surprised there isn't more snow??

I just took these yesterday. I decided that since it was supposed to be the last nice day for a while, I might as well put it to use. The hike was fine, but once we got closer to the summit it got really icy and snowpacked. I don't recommend doing it in JANUARY!

The last time I was up there was when I was 13. It was a family reunion and we took my city-slicker uncle from Boston up there so he could finally see what a mountain looks like. He was mad because there was no gift shop at the top!

It was August and he was probably 50ish. He did fine.
