I have a son 4 year old with Autism (milder side), We live in Jersey City zipcode 07305, Doctor recommended inclusive class with ABA teacher - I have some questions

* What are the policies for selecting a school, Can parents choose from list of available schools? or we have to go with whatever they give us? can we ask for out of district schools?
* Do you know of any online/offline parents support group in jersey city?
* What is the best school district for children with autism in New Jersey or Tristate area?
* Do you know of any good website(s) that provide more information about autism (I know that there are plenty online but looking for useful onces)

Thanks for reading my post and sharing your experiences

I don't know if NJ is different, but we did not get to choose a school, provided that the school offered the recommended program. Unless a child cannot be accommodated in the district, they are not going to send you out of district to another school, as far as I know. You can ask, but it seems unlikely to me that they will do an outplacement especially in the early years.
If they have problems with your child, they might.

You might start with the Westchester meetup group here:
The Westchester Autism and Asperger's Group (White Plains, NY) - Meetup

Autism is so variable, that it is difficult to find good sources of information that speak to your specific child.

I recommend books instead:

http://www.amazon.com/Children-Autis...=cm_lmf_tit_15

Amazon.com: Facing Autism: Giving Parents Reasons for Hope and Guidance for Help (9781578562626): Lynn M. Hamilton: Books

If you have a kindle and would like the perspective of parents who have been through this, you can try this book:

Amazon.com: The Autism Experience: International Perspectives on Autism Parenting eBook: Valerie Foley: Kindle Store (http://www.amazon.com/Autism-Experience-International-Perspectives-ebook/dp/B005LWHDAC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1316695932&sr=8-1&tag=pbv-20 - broken link)

Default good website

Try this site for reading everything about autism: Organization for Autism Research There's a ton to read for about a year. Cutting edge research that every parent should read.
