Let Spokane continue to get a bad wrap. It weeds out the unwanted.
Assuming you mean "rap" and not the fare at Pita Pit, it also weeds out those who crave Vitamin D. If t weren't for my anti-SAD blue light in the morning, all of my teeth would have fallen out and my immune system would have collapsed by now. (And by way of amplification, Eliot was referring to England, which he preferred so much compared to St. Louis that he became a permanent expatriate.)

We did visit Spokane last week and it was gorgeous the first day, completely rained HARD the second day, started that way the third day but then was partly sunny but when we went back over the pass it was raining over here so at least you guys sometimes get more of a break than you realize. Esp. when you are where I am by Mt. Rainier & the Cascades that trap everything (Seattle gets way better weather).

Now cold...that's another thing. I'm still trying to figure out when you guys stop being colder & get warmer than us on the west side...(this year aside). April? May?

July, if we're lucky. This year, maybe never.

Spokane has the worst weather in America. Or at least among the worst. We haven't had a decent day since last October. And anyone on this thread who says otherwise is a damned liar.

Rain, cold, wind. Rinse and repeat. Over and over and over.

We've enjoyed hiking every weekend since mid March. Yes, some days have been wet but every time the rain would stop for few hours, just enough to get out and enjoy nature.
I like Spring here more than NJ - it is gradual warming up, no ticks, and you can actually have fun outside.

Next winter I am planning to try snow shoe-ing because it seems fun.

Yes, those pauses between downpours have been so delightful.

And -- when does that gradual warming part kick in? Frost on the windshields again this morning; and May less than two weeks away. Keep your fingers crossed -- why, you may get to enjoy snowshoeing this summer! It is Spokane, you know.

What a nightmare of a place. No wonder we legalized pot so overwhelmingly. Something had to be done to help folks convince themselves that the Northwest climate is conducive to thoughts other than suicide.

Yeledaf - perhaps go see a movie. Or watch James Cameron's 'Titanic' on yer own 55" screen TV.

And no godawful humidity in warm weather. Heck...it's even dryer in the cold weather. So much pleasanter.
