If Serena looked like that superficially-attractive Anna Kournikova, she'd be worshipped in this country. She's a beautiful woman who is supremely athletic and gifted, one of the greatest ever. Congratulations to her on winning the French Open.
Indeed. Were it not for injuries and inconsistent motivation we might be talking about Serena as the GOAT already. Even so she still has a shot at catching up to Graf and Court, and for my money I'd take Serena at her best over any other female tennis player in history.
We all know Serena William's ATTITUDE and unattractive personality, ranging from threatening the line judge to NOT giving opponents credit when she loses to them. But, let's just talk about the "superficial" surface:
I can't say I'm really a Serena Williams fan, but what's she been able to do over the last year or so, at age 31, is truly remarkable. This stretch definitely has now put her in the conversation about the greatest women's player of all-time. She's had a hell of a career.
If only she had better sportsmanship, but no question, she is one of the greatest players...if she can win another 7 slams to pass Steffi, she will be the best ever.
Shes a great tennis player, horrible attitude though so she has that going against her. Beautiful ? I dunno man, id pick Anna every day. Serena isnt even up there, probably some guys I would rate as more attractive first ...

I don't think she has to win 7 more to be considered the best ever. If she does, sure, it makes the argument pretty much iron-clad. But she's already surpassed Steffi, imo, who had to battle it out with the likes of Arantxa Sanchez-Vicario, Conchita Martinez, Jana Novotna, Mary Pierce, Gabriella Sabatini, Mary Jo Fernandez and an aging Martina Navratilova (she could only muster a 9-9 head to head record against a woman 13 years her senior). Serena, on the other hand, has a losing record against no one (Graf had a losing record against Lindsay Davenport who Serena pwned).
I have a lot of respect for Steffi, but I definitely have to give Serena the nod here.
The GOAT, imo, is Martina since she won a staggering 167 singles titles and has pretty much done everything that can possibly be done in singles, doubles and mixed-doubles.
