Branson is ok once I figured out how to get around and miss all the traffic, wouldn't mind living there but at this time staying with the Lakes to the North.

With the exception of that little piece of highway 76 between the Outback and Walmart, I can get ANYWHERE in Branson in 15 minutes or less (usually much less). You just have to know how to do it.

Branson is a fine place to live. I live in the country in Stone County, but I am in Branson on nearly a daily basis. I just don't buy anything there because sales tax is so high.

To the OP, check out Harrison, Arkansas. Its a great little town.

Cool Iowa to SWMO...

We have a 4 year old - so we are interested in the school districts????
What I suggest is to call each school and make an appointment for a personal tour. They're all really good about doing that... Otherwise, you're going to get a few opinions on which school districts are "best"...and that may or may not fit your personal criteria. Academics, sports, smaller class size...there are positives and negatives to each one.

There are plenty of nice towns surrounding Springfield. And lakes...too. Each town, and each lake, has it's own personality. Some are party lakes, some are fishing mainly, some more family oriented, some more secluded. Visit. You can drive from Iowa in a half a day!

As for FLAT...the Branson area is generally more hilly than parts north near Springfield. You can find "relatively" flat spots here and there, but it's more of a challenge!

Best of luck in your search. Some folks love it, some not so much.
