I'm sharing my "secrets"... I'm a real estate junkie.

The Greater Springfield Multiple Listing System

Google Earth is a must so you can get a feel for what the area looks like from above.

Another tool for getting info on properties in Greene County (Springfield)... Greene County
This site gives you all the legal info (sq footage, year built, sketch, values for tax purposes), a map - can be clicked to satellite view which is nice for cross referencing - as well as a photo of the house in many cases.

Christian County just opened a site *similar* to that in the past year, but it's very awkward to use and doesn't have much info so I won't even link to it.

Sometimes if the real estate agents didn't list an address (how could you not do that - it's all about location, right??) we could figure it out by using the assessor site and Google Earth... nice for avoiding calls to an agent unless you are ready to look. But we have lived here our whole lives so it's easier that way.

**Sorry if the links aren't clickable. It looks like my newbie status leaves them all in code format. Hopefully you can figure out what to copy and paste.

My favorite site to view local listings is Greater Springfield Board of REALTORS®

Yeah, that link pulls from the same database as the springfield.rapmls.com site.

Another thing I like about the assessor's site is that you can click on the map and see what the houses next door, across the street, etc. look like.
