Goodness! We're moving to Springfield on the NW side in one of the many new neighborhoods in that area, but we are really concerned about the lack of grocery stores in that area (South of Chestnut, west of West Bypass)!! Are there any plans of building one?

Default What is too far?

Well, if the area is growing then grocers will follow. However, you will probably find that there are grocers within a reasonable distance.

I live north of Branson and the "closest" grocery store is about 13 miles away. One learns to plan better. No more quick runs to the store.

You'll do fine. There are grocery stores (Dillons, Price Cutter) relatively close to that area.

I guess ask and you shall receive!

Brand New Price Cutter going in at the corner of West Bypass (160) and Chestnut.

Price Cutter is too expensive. Walmart on Sunshine and West Bypass isn't that far.

Pshaw! I regularly shop Dillons, Price Cutter, and Wal-Mart. It would be impossible to say that any of them are "too expensive". Certainly with Dillons and Price Cutter you need to watch for the specials for the very best prices, but Wal-Mart is not always the lowest price item for item even at regular prices.

But the point on location is quite to the point - Wal-Mart must be all of four or five minutes from W. Bypass and Chestnut. And Dillons is just west of Kansas on Kearney.
