check with his school, the YMCA, or local churches. When i was a kid, there were multiple avenues for sports, and i'm sure there are more now. I went to catholic school, and our school/church had CYC leagues setup for all the major sports (basketball, soccer, baseball/softball). I also played on a city sponsored league as well with the City of Bridgeton, i'm sure there are similar leagues setup in Kirkwood, and especially through the different orginizations in the area.

CYC is pretty good. Also if he wants to play baseball there are a number of leagues to choose from. I grew up playing at Affton, and that's a really good program that's a definite step up from CYC ball.

Fellow Kirkwood resident here with a lot of kids. I don't think the CYC programs (which would be St. Peter or St. Gerard in Kirkwood) start at age 4. I would suggest that you check out the Kirkwood/Webster YMCA because they have a lot programs and have sports like basketball (again, don't know about age 4 though).

You should also go to the Kirkwood Community center or search online and get a brochure for the programs the Kirkwood parks and rec departments put on.

For baseball, there is a kirkwood athletic association off of Marshall Road. Again, I don't think they have anything for 4 year olds but you can check it out.

^^ I was going to suggest CYC as well; unfortunatley the child has to be at least six years of age to participate. It would be a good idea to keep them in mind though once he gets of age.

The only thing I can think of off the top of my head would be YMCA (as previously suggested) or Vetta Sports; they have a program called Kickaroos that is suitable for children between the ages of 18 months and 5 years old. You can search which facility would be best for your according to your zip code:
