Does anyone know? Did sales tax increase this month? State or county or whaterver? The people at New York Times just told me that our sales tax increased this month. Hundreds of miles away and they know more than I do!

It increased 0.1875% in the City and County for Arch/parks improvement. That's about $0.02 on $10.

The vote for the increase was last Tuesday, April 2nd. I think less than 400 people showed up at my precinct to vote. The turnout was just terrible, and the main reason I voted was for a mayoral election. I voted "Yes", and I think it passed pretty easily.

It passed with 60-something support in the City and 50-something support in the County

Thank you. Was it state-wide or a local sales tax increase? Not that it matters; just curious. Since it passed, does it go into effect immediately? Usually, there is a date on such, isn't there?

I'm in a strange position for voting here. I'm in a very small unincorporated area but vote where neighboring cities vote. So, I'm handed a ballot to vote for people or situations that have no relevance to our area at all. Makes one wonder? Someone should maybe annex us? :-)

That looks pretty good. Can't let our parks slip. Especially the ones with the wonderful old trees that must have been here before Adam. I enjoy them so much. As for the Arch, they tell me it was much improved over when I rode it centuries ago. Not quite so rattly. We shall see what they do next.

Anyway, forgive the silliness. I only wanted to confirm the fact. Thank you for details.

Just local in St.Louis City and County. It's a 20 year tax. I think the Arch grounds are going to get the money first, and then the rest is going to go toward park improvements and expanding the Great Rivers Greenway.

"Great Rivers Greenway". Is that where the Mighty MO meets the Muddy MS? I've not yet been lucky enough to get to see that, although I've read about it.

It's a system of biking a walking trails throughout the metro area, mostly focused on the rivers

Ah! All right. They tell me there is a beautil green park-like setting at the junction of the Missouri and Mississippi. Some day, I'll get there. Supposed to be a great view.
