Are the Raiders and Chargers still wanting to leave?

I agree, but the NFL isn't going to say, "hey, we're going to make Stan sell and THEN you can build a stadium." Things would be so different if Shad Khan was our owner. But instead, we got the Silent Toupee.

Yeah, but the Rams would be in LA, hence STL being the largest market without a team

Ahh. Obviously I wasn't reading the initial posts on this thread. I didn't know that someone's considering moving the St.Louis Rams ta L.A. Is that under consideration now?

The owner of the Rams has gotten the go ahead to build a stadium in Inglewood, and he presented this to the NFL last week. The Oakland Raiders and the San Diego Chargers also want to move, and they have a joint stadium proposal in Carson that they also showed the NFL.

The owner of the Rams is the furthest along with his proposal, but St. Louis is also the furtherest along of the three home markets in regards to putting forward a viable plan for a stadium in order to keep its team.

This has been my idea for some time: let the Rams move to LA, and have the Jaguars move to St. Louis. The Jaguars can still play in the AFC South (St. Louis, Nashville, Houston, and Indianapolis would make a great division), and the LA Rams would be perfect for the NFC West.

Honestly, I think the only team fit for LA should be the Raiders. There's just so much of a culture and a persona that the Raiders have instilled into the West Coast. In which the Rams haven't. But I kind of do agree with the thought of just letting the Rams leave. Because clearly it seems that the relationship between the owner and the city and fans is doomed.

Acquiring the Jaguars would be interesting. Especially if St. Louis were to change the team's name. To something more, St. Louis.

Here's a thought. If St. Louis knew today that the Rams were leaving for LA next season, do you think that fans should just boycott all home games? And send this owner packing away to LA in shame.

I don't have a horse in this (Rams aren't my team) other than my city tax dollars, but the whole thing is a sham. The county (home to most season ticket holders) put their foot down and aren't paying more. The city buckled and the judicial ruling permitting them to do so was questionable to say the least. I've read the ruling and I've read the ordinance and it is anything but vague or overreaching. I'd say boycott now regardless. If they stay, boycott. If they have a lame duck season, boycott. The way this has gone down is bad for the region. The only reason not to boycott is if you love the Rams more than you do St Louis (the region) itself.

Stan won't feel any shame regardless. He's a numbers guy and he's playing his cards rationally. No shame in that even if they play in front of an officiating crew, 20 media types, player families and no one else.

With all due respect, "not having a horse in this" makes it hard to relate. I wouldn't care if the Bears left Chicago, but I bet a lot of people in Chicago would. I've been a Rams season ticket holder since 1995 and have missed a handful of games in their time here. Quite frankly, I want them to stay. At the least, I want STL to have an NFL team. Also, unless you stay in hotels a lot, your taxes aren't paying for this.

With all due respect, you're wrong about how I weigh my emotions vs the fiscal side. I'm actually from Indy. I was at best lukewarm to the proposal for Lucas Oil Stadium at all...and that was in the midst of a long string of winning seasons under much more amicable owner-city circumstances where the cost was shared over a much larger setting in a town that has developed expertise in leveraging sports infrastructure into attracting and retaining national and global sporting events. In other words, a much, much better situation and IMO, it was not necessarily something I was in favor of.

I can guarantee you that had the circumstances in Indy been the same as STL, I would have been 100% against it.

But again, when it's not your team, it's easy to say that. If the Colts were threatening to leave, leaving Indianapolis without the NFL completely, you might have felt differently. I lived in Indy for six years, including the dark days when you could hear a pin drop in the RCA Dome. If the Colts had left, it wouldn't have even registered on my radar. If the Rams leave, does that really affect you in any way shape or form?
