I'm a St. Louis University student writing a reserach paper on the community of Kinloch. I know Kinloch has a very fascinating history being the first African-American city in St. Louis, and then with the Airport land buyouts, and now the North Park project. However, I'm having a hard time find documents for my paper. Sadly, I found some of my best information on Wikipedia, which is not a legitimate source for a college paper.
I was wondering if any of you fellow St. Louisans might know where I can find some good resources, or if you know anyone or you yourself are from Kinloch. Individuals are probably the best source of information for a paper like this.
Either way, I found this forum and thought it would be worth a shot. Any information would help. Thanks

Smile Probably Too Late For Your Paper?

Hi Ms. Jonas,

I am taking an African American (AA) Hist. in St. Louis class and was looking for old pics of Kinloch and came across this post. I know its a year late but if you are still interested, here is what I found on Kinloch. It was very hard to find too. It would seem that much info about towns that were obliterated by discrimination and segregation or AA Hist. in St. Louis related in general is missing. I know it's embarrassing for the ruling class to deal with the atrocities of their ancestorial past but lets get real, hiding it does not change it or make it go away.

Please forgive my rant, search about information regarding AA Hist. in StL has been really frustrating. Anyway here is the title of the article and I hope the info finds you well.

I would have sent you the pdf but it was too big. You should be able to connect to this site through SLU library page.
