Impressions of St. Louis (Sunset Hills: hotel, vacation, fun things to do)

Recently I had the opportunity to visit St. Louis with the family. By far my favorite attraction was the St. Louis Zoo. It is a large, well organized place full of a variety of animals and other fun things to do. Although admission is free, there is a $10 charge for parking and you should be aware that there is an additional charge for certain things inside the zoo. My daughter had a wonderful time and also enjoyed the carousel ride.

Other attractions worth a visit included:

History Museum: contains a replica of Charles Lindbergh's "Spirit of St. Louis"
Grant's Farm: free farm with many small animals and rides
World Bird Sanctuary: lesser known center for birds of prey
Arch: highest memorial in the country with a neat view of the city

I stayed at the Days Inn on South Lindbergh Boulevard. The Sunset Hills area was attractive, but the hotel looked a little old. The room layout was confusing and the inside had a dated appearance and needed upgrading. Our first room was not well cleaned. The breakfast was pretty good however.

Overall I enjoyed the visit and thought it was a worthwhile place to vacation.
