Some people just don't realize how good they have it sometimes.

Your friend cannot be serious. I once spent 30 minutes driving 6 miles on the 405 near the 710 interchange in Long Beach - at 11:00 a.m.!

St. Louis' traffic issues pale in comparison to most other cities, most certainly Los Angeles. St. Louis' major traffic issues are (1) drivers that fail to signal and (2) tards going like a constipated turtle in the hammer lane, both of which are attributable to old fashioned human stupidity.

I'll also add people driving with their lights off at night. 2/3 times I go somewhere after dark, I see someone cruising around when it is pitch black without even their parking lights on...sometimes even on the interstate. It seems far more prevalent here than anywhere else I've lived. I usually flash people...about a quarter of the time they get it, the other three-quarters keep dangerously driving away.

Overall, traffic flows very freely in St. Louis. Someone mentioned in another thread that rush hour is an actual hour, and it is. Traffic here is a joke compared to many cities, both larger and smaller.

Does anyone know when they are planning on putting my fair 44 back into shape? i.e. back to four lanes with shoulders. Instead of the 5 death lanes.

Yeah, traffic here is nothing, and that's coming from someone who grew up and spent 22 of his last 24 years in a town of 7,000 people. There's really only a couple of places that get jammed up on the regular (270/44, Poplar St Bridge, 270S/64W in the evening). I live 8.3 miles from work and I'm getting there in 15 mins and home in about 20.
