During my most recent insurance evaluation it was recommended that I introduce a Red Krill Fish Oil supplement into my diet.
I noticed that the Red Krill is much more expensive than the ordinary fish oil.
Could someone enlighten me on the difference or what makes one better than the other?
Thanks.
I can't answer your question, but I can tell you that the alternative medicine doctor my husband sees recently changed his aliegance regarding EFA oils to plant based - 'YES' is the brand he recommended. So maybe it's a good idea to compare all three.
OP, take both. One day Krill. second day Fish oil. It is all good. I believe in variety and not sticking just with one thing.
I do not take Krill because I cant swallow those capsules and do not like the fact of eating a "capsule"shell itself that is made from chemicals that my body does not need. I buy fish oil in liquid form. I have not found Krill oil in liquid form yet
And after ignoring Krill Oil for years I've decided to jump on see if this oil helps my OA knee better...I'm going to take both as one poster above mentioned. The ones I'm taking are softgels and very easy to swallow.

I take red krill occasionally. I don’t have pain in my hip anymore. Not sure it’s a reason, because I do lots of stuff to help me.
You are fortunate to not have hip pain anymore. I have plenty and went thru hip replacement, probably why I have more. Greater trochanter muscle/joint is affected and talk about pain.
I take Kirkland's (Costco) brand krill oil which incudes axtaxanthin. I read somewhere that krill oil absorbs better and doesn't have an aftertaste like fish oil can. I haven't tried anything else so I can't say if that's true. I'm satisfied with what I'm taking
