Never once did you say anything about being a first time RN, so now you expect me to be a mind reader? It's probably unwise for someone who doesn't live in the Syracuse area to say it has no history. Have you even heard of the Erie Canal? I'm not going to sit here and try to convince you against your current opinions because it's not worth it. You feel this way, then don't move here. If you're one of those people that move here and complain about everything, then I feel sorry for you. As I said before, I've had the opportunity to live in many different places... but it wasn't until I moved to the Syracuse area that I was finally able to call someplace "home."

I absolutely love the Syracuse area... it has so much to offer to people our age if you're willing to give it a shot. If you come in here with that crappy attitude, yes you're going to be miserable. Sean lives in Oneida, which is a good half hour away, so take everything he says with a grain of salt. I had a big BBQ today and all the kids were thoroughly entertained with an $8 slip n slide I got from Aldi... we had an absolute blast! I've lived in Honolulu HI, Melbourne FL, Franklin MA, grew up in south Jersey and I absolutely don't think Syracuse is unremarkable. I love living here and finiding new things the city has to offer. It's funny because never in a million years did I think I'd live here... but now never in a million years could I imagine being anywhere but Syracuse!
You just said the other day you almost accepted a new position Phoneix.

Smuggo don't do it. I moved to Syracuse 2 years ago at 21 because it was the only place I could get a job. I pretty much lost 2 years of my life. I now live in NYC where I can no longer save a ton of money but the cheap cost of living definitely isn't worth living in Syracuse.

Didn't you admit that you weren't able to scope the area out beforehand to figure out where you would want to live?

lol just because I looked into an opportunity to move to a different office within my company has absolutely nothing to do with Syracuse lacking in history and/or identity. I didn't almost accept anything, I just looked into it. After I got more information, I determined that I didn't want to leave the Syracuse area because I love it too much. I am very happy here and the only other place I could ever see myself living is Denver/Colorado Springs. But, I am not going to seek that out because I am so happy here. If an opportunity ever arose, then it would be a maybe, but I've planted my roots here and don't see myself leaving.

Yeah that's true that I lived out in the suburbs where there was literally nothing going on. If I had to do it again I'd live either in armory square or wherever the university students live.
