University of Florida is in Gainesville, 130 miles north of Tampa.

University of South Florida is the only public university in the Tampa area.

University of Central Florida in Orlando is the next closest (80 miles from Tampa).

It amazes me that someone looking to apply to grad school can't figure out how to read a map.

Well, let me clarify that I can read maps. I,being a NY resident do not know about campuses that certain unversities might have at Tampa. This is what I was predominantly looking at. For example, some one is this forum mentioned that SPC,which is in Tampa, has partnership agreements with some universities and this makes it possible to pursue a graduate degree from SPC Tampa campus. This is the kind of information that I was looking at; I can very well read maps.
I hope I am not 'judged' again

You might also try Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers (2 hours south of Tampa). It's a newer state university and might be an easier option in terms of admission and may provide a better financial aid package for you as a result.

University of Tampa is a private school, but offers a great MBA program for working professionals that meets every other saturday for like 3 years. it is reasonably priced as well. Check out UF's sykes school of business. It is in the heart of tampa too, great location.

Just curious NEHS, at what university did you obtain an undergraduate degree?
I'm also an exNY'er.
