Quick question, would there be any areas of the Tampa Bay/ St. Pete area that would have solid public transit to get around and walkable for day to day needs.

I'd like to not need to get a car right away, and if I could get by for a while without one, it would be great. I would be working from home, and looking to spend about $1000-$1500 a month for a 1 or 2 BR apt.

Thanks

Parts of the Central Avenue corridor will have some decent bus service. If they're not on Central, then they're on 1st Avenue North and South.

The areas along Florida and Nebraska will have pretty frequent service. Tampa has a few lines that operate past midnight on weekdays, plus one bus that goes from Downtown Tampa to the airport via local streets every fifteen minutes, I think.

The central areas of Pinellas County (Largo and Clearwater in particular) would offer good walkability and reliable transit options. In particular look around the Gulf to Bay Blvd area east of US 19 in Clearwater and the East Bay Blvd area of Largo, east of Belcher.

South Tampa. All of your resturants/nightlife/grocery/coffee shop needs are right there. There is also free shuttles in the area which go to ybor and downtown/channelside.
