I know you are out there, as we turned Tropicana Field into "Reds Country" last year

(love the Rays, just not for that one series every 3 years or so lol.)

Are there any good Ohio/Cincinnati themed sports bars around? Would be great to meet up with some folks who are originally from Ohio, and love the Reds/Bengals.

I see New York/Boston/Philly themed placed, but haven't come across any Ohio-related ones yet.

Apparently, the Ale House in St. Pete used to be a big Bengals hangout on gameday Sundays, but not so much anymore. I thought it might be cool to arrange some sort of "watch party" for the Reds' opening day, or maybe find out if there is already going to be an existing one.

I always get a kick of out out-of-towners, transients who think there should be a sports bar themed for their hometown. Is there a big Cincinnati population here? I understand Boston and NY, but come on, Cincinnati? Let me recommend either you move back or adopt the hometown teams (Bucs, Bolts, Rays, Bulls).

Man, that was a pretty defensive answer to a relatively harmless question.

I saw a Buffalo, NY themed bar in St. Pete, so why was it unreasonable for me to inquire about a Cincinnati/Ohio themed place?

I wasn't trying to come across with some sort of arrogant tone, and I do like the Rays and Lightning (screw the Bucs lol. Sorry.)

Maybe it was the comment about turning Tropicana Field into "Reds Country" last year. I would never go onto another city's board and boast about that and expect it to be well received.

That's the major problem w/ our sports teams in the area. Transients/transplants don't adopt them. Even after being here decades. Well, they temporarily adopt them - during championship seasons or playoff runs.

Oh geez, would you relax and get off it already?

I guess the stupid face I put on the end of my original post didn't convey that I was just messing around.

Trust me, if you browse the internet, or this site you will find comments much more insulting than what I just posted.

Also, my Reds only come down here every so often, so it was nice to see the support.

You propose I should stop supporting the teams I've rooted for my whole life, and automatically start rooting for the local teams. That, or just move back home (which is dumb) Why would I do that? I'll root for the Rays, expect the one time every 3 years or so they play the Reds. I never got into hockey until I moved down here.

There already is an Ohio-themed bar/grill over in Brandon on Causeway I believe...at least they claim to be the Browns Headquarters (I know that isn't Cincy) so it could work in your favor.

Transients/transplants are the ones buying tickets and keeping your sports teams afloat. In your opinion, how long should one have lived in Tampa before they drop their hometown team loyalties ? A month or two, a year, longer ? You should be preaching to the native Floridians, who don't or can't go to the games.

Pretty simple: when someone moves to Tampa/STP/CLW and calls these towns their "home" - adopt the teams from their home city.

BTW, only 1 in 3 Floridians is native-born.
