Hey folks,

TLDR: can anyone offer suggestions for a nice, family friendly Seminole apartment complex for under $1200 a month?

Long version:
I'm a single dad with a 12 year old son and have a likely job in St Pete.

After much research I have pretty much ruled out living in Tampa or St Pete. Seminole seems to be a collectively agreed upon area that is more "family friendly" and has excellent schools. I'm not interested in locking into a house rental w/o extensive exploration of the area (which I will not have time to do) so I'm looking for a nice, conveniently located apartment complex in the Seminole area where we can live for a year until I get my bearings.

The "Buena Vista" apartments look nice (online at any rate)...?

Thanks

I'd nix Buena Vista.

We own a house in Seminole (33772) within 10 minutes of that complex, and my parents live within walking distance. It is not a place that I'd like to move in with my kids. The neighborhood is very nice, but the cops are called often to Buena Vista. I feel like a lot of the reviews here back up my impressions:

Buena Vista Apartments Ratings, Reviews, Map, Rents, and other Seminole apartments for rent from ApartmentRatings.com

I don't know about many rental complexes in Seminole. There are a lot more in nearby Largo, but in my honest opinion you just can't compare the two. The Seminole schools are much better, and pound for pound everything in both cities - grocery stores, parks, etc - is nicer in Seminole. I've lived in both places.

I do know that there are a lot of houses for rent, and I'd bet you can find one in that price range if you are interested. I'd check the side streets off 113th between Park and 102nd - lots of smaller houses in that area, as opposed to a lot of bigger ones off 125th.
