hate to dwell on attendance, especially since I didn't go, but 13k for a playoff contender is unbelievable.....I think school started, so kids weren't probably at the game.....30-40k at most other MLB games last night.....can anyone imagine if the Rays were a bad team (cellar) what their attendance would be? I don't even think moving the stadium elsewhere would bring a huge draw like other cities.

That's really a shame. And based on your postings, it's not for lack of trying (the promos they run).

It's frustrating hearing this 1,000 miles away. It's got to be even harder as a fan who attends alot of games. Kudos to you for being such a loyal fan!

Trust me I know....

pathetic! I don't understand...I LOVE the Rays and have attended at least 50 games since 2009. I'll even buy MLB to continue watching them....very sad. I have a feeling the Rays won't be in Tampa in 2 years.

Very true.

And think of it this way, the Rays' W-L percentage (.575) is third best in all of AL. I would love to see them actually clinch the AL East title but...if they fall short...they are in great position to be a Wild Card based on the position they're in at the moment. The only other close contender is a battle going on the AL West but there's two Wild Card spots so I like their chances.

He ended up sharing his hot dog w/ his Dalmatian (or mix). You have to sign a waiver to sit in your seats saying you won't sue the Rays' ownership if you get bitten by a dog in the stands. I have to admit, I was admiring all the different breeds and took my eyes off the playing field for a majority of the game.

There simply is not enough interest for people to want to go to see the Rays. It is what it is. I think it would help to move the stadium into Oldsmar or similar location, but even then this is simply not a place that will embrace the team as far as attending. It's only a matter of time and the clock is ticking faster.
