LOVE the brown pelican pic! They are cool birds in my opinion...goofy looking and graceful all at the same time. Watching them fish is pretty fun.

Out of the dozen or so downtown theaters (including the elaborate Florida and Palace), the Tampa's the only one left.

Also, fun fact about the City Hall picture. The clock on top is named "Hortense."

For a completely different moviegoing experience, I recommend the Fun-Lan, Tampa's last drive-in:

Agreed! Watching a movie at the Tampa Theatre is really neat. I have been meaning to for years now and finally got around to it in January...I loved it. Popcorn was much better than expected, too!

I never knew the clock had a name...how funny! Thanks for sharing that!

Talking Ironman A Less Than Beautiful Part Of Clearwater?

I managed to catch some of the Foster Grant Ironman athletes on the bicycle course this past weekend. Really neat to see them, working so hard, and yet some of them smiling as they passed in front of my lens.

Now it sounds like they are moving the big race to Vegas, but we may still get a 50 mile qualifying race here... Since I got stuck on the wrong side of McMullen Booth during the race, I am not sure how I feel about them leaving.

All photos courtesy of Clearwater Beach Daily Photo.

All photos copyright Clearwater Beach Daily Photo.

I've decided to make these photos (and the 500+ additional photos I took) available for the athletes (or anyone) to order prints. So I put the link up on my website, if you know anyone interested. Thanks.
