My best friend is a Canadian and I work P/T when they come in to shop etc and are they arrogant yes sir.. I moved away from Clearwater and hope I see less of them this season. But we have illegal immigrants from all over- in Chicago over 5K are Polish- never hear about that. I simply cannot stomach the entitled arrogant self serving where ever they come from. They are bullys and they are on our roads as well, which takes us back to the original post.

Your right, under no nonemergency situation should any foreign national get any social assistance of any kind from the USA. I would not want any American to get any social assistance of any kind in Canada either. That just makes sense.

Your contribution is miniscule ....and insignificant. I'll cast my lot with my fellow United States citizens - the performing ones and ones who want to perform more. We as a nation are not reliant upon "snowbirds" who hail from Canada or any other foreign nation. Spend your money, enjoy the sunshine and leave.....works for me....no one "misses" you. Your "valued-added" is hyberbolic.

Many US citizens were quite happy to accept the money that we paid for houses or condos from while you were going through your housing crises. I was quite happy to buy my condo and help out a family who could no longer afford it. I got a good deal, and they got out of a bad situation. Tell me that I didn't help someone.

The person I bought my motorhome from was happy to take my money, as they needed it to clear up some past debts. I got a good deal that was happy to help someone.

My next purchase is hopefully a sailboat. I know the person I buy it from will be very happy that someone is buying in a very down market in that segment. On the other hand maybe I should just tell them I am Canadian and that people like you would rather I not spend my money in the United States of America.

So you can get off your high horse of self-righteousness and consider the money that we Canadians spend help actually employ some Americans.

As I said, my American friends and neighbours, for all very happy that I am down in Florida when I come. We get along great, and the attitude you portray is very much in the minority. Conversely, I'm very happy to see them when they come up here to Canada to visit.
