West of 19 Its a run down trashy area with an eclectic mix of many older mobile homes or run down 2 bedroom homes and some nice homes.
Probably as inexpensive as it gets if you want to live on a canal with Gulf access.

Great place if you're into fishing and boating but a good hurricane and your place would be gone so i'd take a good look at insurance costs before buying.
What is it about Hudson thats got your attention?

Just check out crime reports for the west Pasco area. Some pretty rough people in the area.

Kinda depends on what you are looking for, i like the Hudson area and would love to have a small house on a canal with a Jon boat out back a Harley and a pickup truck out front.

There is a nice section of homes along the Canal just West of the Old Dixie Highway (just South of Gulf Way Rd). Saw them about 8 months ago, very nice little area tucked away from pretty much everything.

Had exactly that just up the road. It was fun for a while. You can do a lot better than that section of hudson. Those canals are a little on the nasty side. They don't shut down that little beach almost every year for nothing.

Western Pasco County has a pretty bad reputation in Tampa Bay. If you want stereotypes it's mostly seniors who couldn't afford to live in a nicer part of Florida and low income whites. There's a very big prescription drug abuse problem there. Other comparable cities would be Pinellas Park, Lealman, Kenneth City, and the lower middle class white neighborhoods of St. Pete.

Most of the older people have long died off and now them little 2bedroom homes are rented out to drug dealers and trash. The area was nice until around the 90's when the renters took over.

You won't find a cheaper area to live in.
