we are in our mid to late 30's with young children, we are looking to move out of the city crime and more into the country, spring hill sounds right for us. It is lower in cirme isn't it?

As I am a sahm with a new one on the way, we are looking for an affordable new home (under $130,00) If at all possible. does anyone have any recomended area's or builders? any links would be truly helpful. I blieve 'holiday' homes had something, but I have no Idea what they are like as a builder.

Also,
I would love to know the average commute time from spring hill to where they are buiding the new mall on 54 & 75 I believe)

TIA.

Emma.

The commute will be around 40 minutes or so dependent upon what part of Spring Hill you are in.
I have been in Hernando County 3 years now and think it is great. I have also lived in Pasco and Pinellas and think Hernando is a good place to raise a family.
As far as builders, there are many good ones out there but you can probably get the best deal on an existing home, brand new but already existing. Being there are so many builders it would probably be easier if you went to see a few and then see which ones you like and then get a critique on them from those here.
If your children are school age you will want to watch the neighborhoods since different neighborhoods will be zoned for different schools and some are better than others.
Feel free to contact me if you have any further questions.

Default Pulte Homes

MP knows the area better than I do, but I just received this flyer in the mail. Pulte Homes is building at Trillium in Brooksville starting at $127,400. Please note, this is NOT an endorsement. Just sharing info.

Yes, I saw that and we do like Pulte very much, but Brooksville is further isn't it?

Pulte just came up this way recently, I know they are a large builder but I have not personally had experience with them so I can not comment on their quality.
And as a note, even though the address for their development is Brooksville they are up against the Suncoast Pkwy and right on the other side is considered Spring Hill.
Not a bad area but the schools they are zoned for are not the best.
It would be Moton Elem. and Parrot Middle.

Trillium is at the south east corner of Spring Hill right near the Suncoast Pkwy so would not be a bad trip to 54 and 75.
Probably 30-35 minutes

Holiday Builders are excellent. We have one and find it well constructed and lots of home for the money. No problems with this builder.

Best wishes. You've excellent guidance here.

My parents used Holiday builders to build their home and they have no problems and were satisified with the house.
As far as Trillium, I dont live there, but have not heard anything bad either. The houses seem to be close together, but all of the new subdivision are like that.

Depending on the time of day and the traffic you encounter @54 & 41, I agree with the others on the commute time.

Just as an FYI, there are several good private schools in the area if you are unhappy with the public school you would be zoned for.

As others have said, look around the area and post back so we can help guide you further.
Good luck.

As an added note Holiday is running some big discounts (As most builders are) on what they call their express move in homes. Most builders are trying to close out as much as they can before the end of the year so you should find big discounts everywhere.
