What are some really good places? Preferably in the Valrico/Brandon area. Thanks!

Coldstone Creamery is good, its just off of lumsden and providence. Its a chain though.

If you like frozen yogurt, Menchies (providence and bloomingdale) is great, as is Green Island Tea and frozen yogurt, that's off of Adamo (hwy 60) and Falkenberg (sp?).

I like Campbell's Dairy Land on 200 S Parsons Avenue in Brandon, FL.

I have a new favorite - Purdy's Frozen Custard (1217 Kingsway Rd, Brandon, FL 33510). Custard is really similar to ice cream, just made with eggs in addition to cream and sugar for a slightly thicker, creamier texture. Plus it's a home business and I love supporting the small family-owned businesses.

They offer vanilla and chocolate flavors every day with oodles of options for mix-ins (candy, chocolates, fruit, etc.), plus a flavor of the day which they post on their facebook ). It's deeelish! My favorite is the Caribbean Dream (vanilla custard with coconut and pineapple mix-ins). The milkshakes are to die for too - not syrupy and saccharine like some fast-food versions - really thick and creamy and just a touch of sweetness.

Not sure if "365" is in that area but I love their ice cream and their crepes with Nutella!

If you like frozen yogurt, Yogurtology off of 60, in the same parking area as Haverty's, is awesome. we go there at least once a week. It's the same concept as Menchies, but we like the flavors at Yogurtology more.

Save gas and go for your local grocery store Blue Bell. Love their flavors but Homemade Vanilla is the best. And it's still in a 1/2 gallon container! Seriously, we get an occasional Blizzard from Dairy Queen but hardly ever buy artisan ice cream anymore. Sad really.
