Ok we are living in Clearwater now and we're trying to find great local restaurants. Not corporate owned but mom and pop.

Give me your suggestions for:

Burgers
Pizza
Mexican
Italian
Sandwiches/subs
Chinese
Steakhouse
Seafood
Bbq
Breakfast
Bakery
Thai
Persian

Thanks!

Best Seafood on the Gulf Beach of Tampa Bay
Keegans is good, but Guppys(which is right next door) is better, imo.

Mexican - Casa Tinas, by far (Dunedin.)
Italian - Da Sesto (Pinellas Park/Clearwater...not sure)
Chinese - Eastern China Taste (East Lake/Palm Harbor) << Take out/delivery
Seafood - PJ's Oyster Bar (Indian Rocks Beach, NOT St. Pete Beach)

As for burgers, you should give Square One a try.

Hands down the best burger i've ever had anywhere.

Check any restraunt out before you eat there. There has been plenty of restraunt's closed down by health officials for all kinds of things the bigest is cockroach and mice droppings and improper food handling. The Chinese ons especially. And the all you can eat buffet ones. There was one in Clearwater on gulf to bay and belcher called Mcabes looked clean in the dining area but had roaches and employes not washing their hands and meat left out of the cooler. Check out wfla and look for a section called dirty dining. They give you a list of restraunt's that were cited for health violations.

Burgers
I don't eat many burgers, but Adriano's (between Starkey and Belcher on East Bay) has good burgers, as well as good food in general.

Pizza
Monty's (Nursery and Belcher) is very good, as is Untouchables (Clearwater-Largo Road, about a mile north of West Bay). You also might consider the Mellow Mushroom on Gulf to Bay. I took the girl I've been dating there on Friday night and we were both pretty impressed.

Mexican, Italian, Chinese, Thai, Persian
Don't really do either of these, but the aforementioned Monty's and Untouchables would be options for Italian.

Sandwiches/subs
Seminole Subs (Missouri and Druid) is good. Also...odd as this may be...Morton Plant Hospital. Their cafeteria serves very, very good grinders for $3.75 a piece. They are so good that I go there regularly for lunch.

Steakhouse
P.J's on Indian Rocks Beach has a really good New York Strip. E&E Steakhouse (West Bay and Indian Rocks Road) is good too.

Quote:
Seafood
P.J's, Frenchy's.

Quote:
Bbq
Rib City down by Tyrone Mall is the best I've had here. Sonny's is also pretty good for a chain.

Quote:
Breakfast
Adriano's. Golden Bear.
