Most of us have fun giving little digs to our friends and family in the northeast during the winter time. However, this situation developing now is certainly no laughing matter and could very easily cost lives. If you have property and/or friends/family up there, best wishes and prayers that everything and everybody will be okay.

That is very kind of you. Bracing for hell right now. Just praying the power doesn't blow.....as I am dreading circumstances like Hurricane Sandy. WEEKS before power was restored.

Thank you North_Pinellas_Guy. It is getting pretty bad now. The roads are becoming frozen and compacted with the snow/ice. Traveling is getting treacherous. Driving on that is no laughing matter. I pray all make it home to their families and children safely.

Believe it or not a lot of people are pretty excited about this storm up here. I don't know about down in the city but up in these mountains with all the ski areas 25'' of fresh powder is what a lot of people live for. Bring it on. This is up north afterall.

Blizzard 2015: Cities, states begin shutting down - CBS News

As someone who drove in the stuff during my 20+ yrs of living in Europe, I hated the black ice on the roadways - even was a first responder to a fatal accident where I watched a car leave the autobahn and wrap itself around a tree. Snow and ice on the roads are deadly. Even good drivers can be helpless on the ice......

Floridians are so terrified of winter weather people up north experience. When you apply common sense, like using snow tires and low gears, driving cautiously, etc. it's quite manageable.

It's just a freakin' snow storm.

The hysteria every time there is a storm is getting really annoying. No matter where it is.
